Woolf Barnato, a multimillionaire from South Africa, a flamboyant personality, was the most famous of all, and took great care of establishing the legend of the Bentley Boys. He gained the victory in the Le Mans 24 Hours race three years on end. When Barnato left the race, Bentley stopped participating in the competition and closed a nice chapter in motor-racing. The heroes of Bently managed to create their legend just in four seasons.

For Bentley the best-known duration race means the opportunity to renew ties with its brilliant past by reviving the glory of the legendary Bentley Boys. A new generation of Bentley Boys is represented by drivers with the same thirst for sporting triumphs and victory: Tom Kristensen, Dindo Capello and Guy Smith, Johnny Herbert, David Brabham and Mark Blundell.

The Bentley Le Mans chronograph was created by the company in honor of the legendary race. It is powered by a self-winding movement with 24-hour display, a hint at the length of the race. This exclusive mechanism, Breitling Caliber 22, features a Flyback function.

One more exclusive Breitling characteristic is that the Bentley Le Mans chronograph is equipped with a variable tachometer. This device makes possible to measure average speed, whatever the time passed, the distance covered or the speed reached. The device is set going by the rotation of the outer bezel, which drives a pinion and arbor acting on the inner bezel. It guarantees precise measurements of speeds.

This is the largest of all Breitling chronographs as the diameter of the watch is 48.7 mm. Its clever construction ensures a perfect fit on the wrist of any size.
